Once a fortified stronghold built in a bend of the Saône River, the village of Monthureux-sur-Saône is nestled amid lush greenery and forests. Inhabited since ancient times, the village grew during the Middle Ages and became an economic and strategic crossroads at the heart of three provinces: Lorraine, Burgundy, and Franche-Comté.
