LIGNEVILLE

The St-Basle Chapel is located on the site of a Gallo-Roman sanctuary. It was a Merovingian necropolis still in use inthe 16th century and owned by the lords of Lignéville. Sold after the Revolution to a family from the village, it was restored in 1852 by a certain Victor HUGO and transferred to the Diocese of the Vosges in 1927.

The municipality of Lignéville purchased it in 2012 and carried out renovation work to restore the building to its former glory.
