The trench of the 4 pools in Attigny

This natural forest site includes about thirty ponds that line the Domaniale Forest of Darney, on the Municipality of Attigny, southwest of the Vosges about 5 kilometers from Monthureux-sur-Saône.

These mardelles, of which we do not know the precise origin, have so far been spared from filling or drying.

They bring all its originality and biological diversity to the forest landscape. An educational trail designed for people with reduced mobility will make you discover these original places of life, havens of peace for many amphibians.

Tools and educational panels adapted to the visually impaired public will complement your journey.

Short circular educational trail adapted to all handicaps and punctuated with explanatory signs. Count 45 minutes to 1 hour of course: 30.Les 4 mares - Attigny - adapté PMR 1 km

The marl-limestone lawn of the Banie at Lironcourt

The lawn covers a crescent-shaped hill with a wonderful view of the meanders of the Saône. Along the cow trail, you can learn all about the flora and fauna of this exceptional natural site, including wild orchids that mimic the shape and smell of bees and bumblebees. The Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels de Lorraine hosts visits to the site every summer.

An educational trail through the pasture gives you the opportunity to browse the site. After the farm, a fence crossing allows you to access the top of the hill (presence of a panel of information) and to admire the view on the meanders of the Saône. It is also possible to make a loop of about 1 hour by skirting the lawn, going up on the plateau at the back and joining the typical village of Lironcourt.

The valley of Préfonrupt at Monthureux-sur-Saône

Monthureux-sur-Saône is a village in the southwest of Vôge, nestled in a meander of the Saône. This river, the main tributary of the Rhône, receives itself the waters of a small stream, shortly after its source: the Préfonrupt.

Of great ecological richness, the stream of the Prefonrupt and the wetlands that border it shelter many species typical of these environments: Lamprey of glide, Sculpin, Spotted Salamander, Yellow-bellied Sonneur...
In addition, the landscaped trail overlooking the site will allow you to admire the outcrops of sandstone, an old quarry or the dense vegetation of this forest valley.

This site, formerly enrolled (spruce plantations), has been the subject of a global restoration operation to promote natural afforestation (Alder and Ash).

The ENS 88 signposting will guide you along this circular educational trail. Count about an hour’s walk.
