Since 2017, the Community of Communes Les Vosges Côté Sud-Ouest has led a policy of promoting the trails of its intercommunal territory.

The Vallon Saint-Martin trail located in the territory of the Municipality of Escles and Vioménil is the subject of a unique development, to renew the reception offer on this hiking trail recognized for its forest heritage which it allows to discover, interest young audiences, integrate New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) as methods of discovering cultural and natural heritage.

The aim of the project is to attribute, on the one hand, a singular identity to the path, through the imagination of a story, in the form of a quest (game), which finds its points of support on the centers of interest along the trail. The imagined story has been illustrated. On the other hand, the project makes it possible to promote the archaeological research work carried out for many years by volunteer members of the local Escles Archéologie association.

Aimed at a family audience, the project wants to discover the heritage present on the trail, through a look that is both playful and scientific.

To carry out this project, the Community of Municipalities received LEADER financial assistance for the production of the panels installed on the trail, the presentation brochure available at the entrance to the trail and from the Tourist Office, and for remuneration expenses necessary for implementation (graphics, tourism, technical services).

Project cost: €8,969.17 including tax – Leader Support: €7,175.33
