Listed as a Historic Monument, Godoncourt is dominated by its church Saint-Rémy in forms that combine simplicity and complexity. Built in the 13th century, the church, originally Romanesque, saw the Gothic style dominate later. In the 16th century, it underwent many changes, including fabulous painted frescoes depicting religious scenes such as the nativity. The 17th c. will see an enrichment of the furniture with very beautiful altars. Godoncourt is known for its Orthodox monastery but we must not neglect its parish church Saint-Rémy with thousands of hidden riches.
