Strategic city of the Duchy of Lorraine until its incorporation into France in 1766, this village fascinates. Southern gateway of Lorraine to the borders of Franche-Comté and Champagne-Ardenne, the city has known rich hours, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. From its Barrois, Lorrain and French heritages, Chatillon-sur-Saône has accumulated a remarkable heritage that is still largely preserved. The "Renaissance" architecture, the mansions, the cellars or the monumental doors are all discoveries at the corner of the streets of a promontory-fortress.
