The installation of this "carousel mill" or "blood mill", probably dates from the late eighteenth century or early nineteenth century.
In 1917, a cheese dairy in Ainvelle, Jacques Maradan bought the oil mill which he operated for a few years.
The oils were produced from nuts, rapeseed, rape and eyelet.
Use of the mill declined, until its closure in 1930. After a long period of inactivity, it was from the electrification of the village that the oil mill resumed its functions, clandestinely first from 1943 to 1945 (under German occupation) and then officially until 1953.
The site now belongs to an individual. Tours are organized in July and August in partnership with ADP3P, as well as for Heritage Day and other requests.
