This Orchard was born after the storm of 1999 thanks to the support of the Vosges General Council. They are intended to protect endangered local fruit varieties. They contain species of local and new trees. Its purpose is to:

- Raise awareness of the maintenance or reconstruction of orchards;
- Census of local plum varieties;
- To safeguard and promote local fruit heritage.

The Association «Verger Conservatoire des Marches de Lorraine», created on 5 September 2006, whose headquarters are in Isches, manages the inter-communal conservatory.
