This castle located below the village is rich with a turbulent history.
In the Middle Ages there was a fortified house which was considerably renovated in the 16th century by the Chatelet family. Jean du Châtelet sequestered his brother there for 8 days in order to obtain from him the renunciation of the maternal inheritance: lost sorrow.
During the First World War, a wealthy American, amazed by the building, bought the right wing and all the chimneys, sculptures and decorations, both exterior and interior. He had it remounted in the New York suburbs of Long Island.
